The short version

UpMass has no ads, analytics or trackers, and playing never needs an account. The game itself sends nothing anywhere. The only way your progress leaves your device is if you play the web version at pastforward.games and choose to sign in to a PastForward account there; see below. The website pastforward.games, which hosts the web version, counts visits with its own cookie-free, anonymous analytics (no cookies, nothing stored on your device, nothing shared); opening the Daily Lift page there is counted the same way. What stays on your device

Your game progress is kept in your browser's or the app's local storage under two keys: upmass-save-v2 (the Program: yard, the Rim, Hellas Reach, Sling shots, your Daily Lift results and streak, and a bay you packed but have not launched) and upmass-run-v1 (Colony Run stars and a run in progress, including its packed bay). Uninstalling the app or clearing site data deletes it.

Optional account sync (web only)

If you play at pastforward.games and sign in to a PastForward account, the website (not the game) keeps a copy of those two keys in your account, so your progress follows you between browsers. Nothing is copied if you never sign in, and the Android app is never synced. The PastForward privacy policy covers that account copy, and you can delete it there at any time.

Network use

The game runs offline and does not send gameplay data anywhere. If you tap Share, your device's own share sheet opens with a short text summary, and you choose where it goes.

A future update may add an optional "Post my score" button for a Daily Lift leaderboard on pastforward.games. It is switched off today and nothing is posted. If it is turned on, nothing is sent unless you link the game to a PastForward account and press the button; then only your Daily Lift score, grade, tons and the date are sent, and the link key is stored on your device under a third key, upmass-link-v1, which is never synced. This page will be updated before that ships.

Children

The game collects no data from anyone, including children. An optional PastForward account is covered by the PastForward privacy policy.
